The Bachelors Button Rug was designed by Morris in 1892. It features a monochromatic depiction of cornflowers (known in folklore as Bachelor's Buttons as they were worn by young men in love). The Design Studio at Morris and Co have recreated the design in neutrals tones, adhering to Morris' simple scheme comprising just three colours. This rug has been hand tufted in India, using a pure wool yarn to create a dense 15mm thick looped pile construction, that gives excellent definition to the design.
