Case includes: Product information: Château Pontet-Canet, Vintage:2014, A complex, inky-dark 5th Growth Pauillac offering rich flavours of black cherry and dark chocolate over a fresh, elegant finish., About this bottle:Located next door to Mouton Rothschild, Château Pontet-Canet dates back to 1725. Current owner Alfred Tesseron maintains he is a farmer first and foremost and that the wines of Château Pontet-Canet are made in the vineyard. As if to prove his point, Pontet-Canet was the first major Bordeaux estate to earn organic certification and latterly, biodynamic status, going fully biodynamic in 2005. The property’s 8 hectare vineyard is divided into two main parcels, which are further divided into 92 ‘micro parcels’. Each parcel is harvested and vinified separately under the guidance of Jean-Michel Comme. The wines are then matured in a mix of egg-shaped concrete vats and oak barriques, with very few new barrels used. Château Pontet-Canet 2014 is a distinctive wine with a very pure and sumptuous texture, offering fine, harmonious notes of cassis, liquorice, dark chocolate and dried fruits on the finish.
