All men should have a few classics in their wardrobe. This superb College Stripe Scarf is craftsman-made in Hawick, Scotland from 100% Extrafine Lambswool, using wool dyed and spun here in the UK. Our college scarf is a minimalist's delight, a simple rectangular shape with no tassels, yet still manages to look rather dapper and dandyish. The Great and British Knitwear Lambswool Striped College Scarf is impeccably made and hand finished. It's also generously proportioned, at 32cm wide by 172cm long. Although the vertical stripe scarf was a creation borne of necessity in WWII (mixed strips of colour woven material being cheaper than solid knits), it was swiftly adopted by schools and universities, and used as a statement of their calibre by graduates. The college scarf finally found it's fashion feet in the 1960s with the beatniks and later, the mods. Now, it's a staple of all well-dressed men - shouldn't you be wearing one?
