Update a dress, renew faded denim or change the colour of your bath towels - with Dylon Dyes refreshing your clothes and accessories has never been easier. Perfect for both home and fashion projects, the Dylon dye is simple to use and produces fantastic results which will remain permanent. This pack contains 50g of dye which is for hand use and dying smaller and delicate pieces that may damage in a washing machine. To get started weigh your fabric to check you have a sufficient amount of dye, then wearing rubber gloves, dissolve dye in 2 pints of warm water. Put 12 pints of hottest tap water in to a flat bottomed bowl or stainless steel sink and add 250g of salt, stir well then add dye solution. Put unfolded damp fabric in to the bowl, dye for one hour, stirring as instructions advise. To finish rinse in cold water until water runs clear, then wash separately in hot water using normal washing detergent. Please note: to produce the best and most vibrant results we recommend using Dylon Pre Dye to remove colour from fabric so that is suitable for dyeing to a lighter colour. You will also need to purchase the salt which opens up the pores of fabric enabling it to absorb the dye better. Dylon Dyes are not suitable for use with polyester, nylon and synthetic fabrics.
