This cake is naturally low in fat, and contains an abundance of real fruit, with apple flavour and cinnamon to give it a unique taste and a lovely moist texture. This cake can be enjoyed on its own but is really nice with the addition of real clotted cream or custard. We have also found on our travels to the West Country that this cake goes particularly well with a glass of traditional cider! As the cake has a very low fat and moisture content this makes it suitable for freezing which many of our customers often tell us is fine. Whilst this cake is wheat free it is not gluten free as it is made with rye flour which, whilst very low in gluten when compared to normal wheat flour, is above the levels recommended by the Coeliacs society. As an additional point the fact that these cakes are made without eggs make them perfectly acceptable for those following a Vegan diet.
