Made from lacquered, moulded plywood with brass fixings; this beautiful stool blends Eastern shapes with the technique of shaping plywood, developed by Charles and Ray Eames. The gently curved silhouette is reminiscent of the wings of a butterfly. Vitra has manufactured furniture designs by Charles & Ray Eames and George Nelson since 1957. Building on this foundation over the years, the company has developed a wide range of furnishings for the office, for the home and for public spaces in collaboration with progressive designers. In 1952 Sori Yanagi founded the Yanagi Industrial Design Institute, which created a prolific number of articles of daily use and furnishings.
