This Anniversary Special Edition Storage Jar from Kilner celebrates the 175th anniversary of the original Kilner jar. This vintage-style jar reflects the classic design from 1842. It is embossed with the Kilner brand on the front and finished with a screw top. It's the perfect solution to storing jams, chutneys and fruits and adds a charming touch to a kitchen shelf. The Kilner business was first established by John Kilner in 1842 in Yorkshire and initially produced glass bottles and jars. Towards the end of the 19th century, Kilner designed and developed a patent for a vacuum seal jar which revolutionised the way in which food could be made and stored. To this day, the simple but effective system is still used in all Kilner screw top jars.
