The incredible detailing of this print is mesmerising. The highlights and shading bring this image to life, making it a wonderful addition to any home. Dina's full name is Dina Alexandrovna Perejogina. She was born in St Petersburg (Leningrad as it was known then), Russia during April 1976. Her mother and father are both artists. Dina grew up with her mother and brother in St Petersburg when her parents separated. Perejogina's mother is a talented artist still living in St Petersburg. Her father moved to Moscow and is now responsible for restoring Russian Icon art along with other important state artefacts. Dina's love of wildlife and fine art has led her to develop a very detailed style of work, which she has her father to thank for this gift! Perejogina will usually spend several weeks on a painting to ensure she captures the intricacy and essence of her subject. She always tries to create emotion in her paintings, in the hope that the owners of her work will be moved to smile whenever they catch sight of it. Perejogina has been selected as the artist to promote REACT (Red Endangered Animal Connection Trust). REACT is dedicated to raising awareness and educating people about the threats to endangered species. During 2011, REACT focussed on three threatened species; the Malayan sun bear, the Bornean orangutan and the Asian pygmy elephant, raising funds to protect their environment. Dina is delighted to have been commissioned by Andy Buchan, art patron of the Gloss Gallery, Exeter to produce original paintings of REACT's chosen endangered species to support their conservation plans.
