The first paperweight designed by Lisa Law, reference was given initially by the original Imari paperweight for inspiration. The shape of the piece gave an indication as to how the design would be decorated, with the shell being patterned differently to the body using the rich in-glaze blue and on-glaze red to give the depth of colour and accenting with highlights of hand finished 22 carat gold.. The Imari flowers soften areas contrasting against the translated geometric pattern that runs across the spine, and the gold curls that occur in the pattern translate to the base to give a sense of weight and movement. A totally modern design to a well-known pattern which saw the limited edition Old Imari Hare sell exceptionally well last year.Porcelain Shop At House Of Fraser
