There is no animal that has quite the same effect as a Baby Panda. Such is the rarety of this endangered species that any new arrival is treated with reverance and huge excitement. The team at De Rosa studied the shape and movement of this wonderful animal before the master model was created. Once approved by Jorge De Rosa, the owner and son of the founder, the first production moulds are made allowing the skilled carvers to start their work. After casting a solid ceramic body and allowing it to dry the clay piece is carved to add the detail and personality, something that casting alone cannot hope to give. With all the work being done by hand it is the subtle differences betwenn individual pieces that give them their persoanity. Once carved they are fired and then hand painted before being fired yet again. So much work for one so small but typical of the attention to detail of De Rosa.Ceramic Shop At House Of Fraser
