The Barkvase flower vase comprises an external stainless steel structure and an internal glass container, which is ideal for freshly cut flowers. The design of Barkvase, as its name suggests, is inspired by tree bark and its perforated pattern recalls knots in the wood grain. The cylindrical shape of the vase recalls that of a trunk, whilst the flowers inside it turn it into a poetic object, a small tree of life. Designed by Michael Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui, the designers drew their inspiration from their home, Casa Boucquillon which is a place for experimentation, meditation and work where they can live in sync with nature. The perforated pattern of the Bark range recalls the bark on the trees that surround the house. The result is a strongly poetic collection where every individual object proves to be, either in shape or in function, in continuous and harmonious dialogue with nature.
