In the mouth it is soft and sweet, with a seductive texture and fruity crème caramel flavours with a hint of cocoa on the finish., About this bottle:Malvasia is the most important grape variety in Madeira's wine history. The grape is important as it brings not only sweetness to the wines, but also a freshening acidity that gives the island’s wines their elegance and balance. This wine is a blend of different harvests aged separately in different French, American and Portuguese oak casks in Madeira's unique Canteiro system. Some of the casks were up to 80 years old, which impart a unique depth and complexity to the wine, in contrast to younger barrels which enhance the wines’ freshness and varietal character.
