Elderton dates back to 1894, when vineyards were first planted on the banks of the North Para river in Nuriootpa. Present owners Cameron and Allister Ashmead believe in continuing the traditions that were began over 100 years ago and with this wine aim to show the importance of sub-regional variation in the valley. Grapes were selected from a 60 acre vineyard from low-yielding vines ranging between 20 and 35 years in age.
