A natural extension of Omega's legacy in space, this rugged watch has been specifically designed for space explorers and is fastened with a lightweight and hardwearing bracelet made of brushed grade 2 titanium with grade 5 titanium links, secured with a brushed fold-over clasp. The imposing 45mm brushed case is constructed from grade 2 titanium, and features a brushed crown and pushers and a black ceramic bi-rotational bezel which has a chromium nitride scale and white Super-LumiNova with green emission on the 60-minute indicator. Beneath the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides, the black dial with its white indexes and hour markers has a central opening which reveals the digital elements which display the hour, minute and seconds of up to three different time zones, three alarms, chronograph and countdown functions, and a perpetual countdown. This remarkable timepiece also features two functions that will prove useful for on-duty astronauts: mission elapsed time (MET) and phase elapsed time (PET). All about optimal readability and ease-of-use, the Omega Speedmaster Skywalker X-33's skeletonised hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova which emits a green light and can be disengaged to allow clear reading of the digital display, whilst the LCD display itself has an electroluminescent backlight, and features grey segments on a black background. Water resistant to 30m, this state-of-the-art timepiece is powered by the Omega calibre 5619 advanced multi-functional quartz chronograph movement, which features a thermo-compensated integrated circuit and has been tested and qualified by the European Space Agency.
