this beautiful shirt is made using the pintuck shibori dying technique. similar to tie dye 'shibori' is the japanese term for dying a pattern into fabric. to make this shirt thin thread is delicately woven through the fabric and pulled tight to make tiny pleats. the fabric is then wound around a large pole which is lifted into the vat of dye. the dye cannot penetrate through the pleats so once the fabric has dried the thread is removed creating an intricate and irregular pattern. with roll back three quarter sleeves collar neckline and a flowing handkerchief hem.
